Chris Archibald

Chris Archibald originally hails from Provo, Utah.  He started golfing in mid 1982, and has been swinging ever since.  His younger years were spent playing on the UJGA tour followed by a stint for several years on the Provo High Golf team, which garnered him an individual 'Athlete of the Week' award for his performance in a tournament, as well as a team award as they tied for second place in state his senior year.  After a two year mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Vilnius, Lithuania, he returned more focused then ever and exploded on the local amateur golf scene.  Highlights of this period in his career include a 70 (-2) at the Barber Brothers Utah State Central Amateur and inclusion in the invitation only FATMAN matches. This was his introduction to the AGA tour, the organization that has defined his career in the years since.  His successes on the AGA tour include many wins in the grueling FATMAN matches, winning the ILCRICC in 2003 and 2004 as well as the 2007 IBC.  He also had what is arguably the most memorable shot in AGA tour history on the 17th hole at the 2008 ILCRICC, when he holed a wedge from 125 yards to give him the lead in the tournament, only to see Thom Archibald birdie 17 and 18 to secure the one stroke victory.  He has never finished outside of the top 4 in an AGA event, which ties a tour record.  He has resided in Palo Alto, California, since 2006, making him the first AGA competitor to live in the Golden State.  He married Brittney in 2004 and is the father of two boys, Alec and Charlie, who are already following in his soft-spiked footsteps.  He also enjoys playing soccer, reading, and doing research in Computer Science at Stanford University.
